   About TWIGS KIDS

   TWIGS KIDS was founded in 1972 by Tom and Linda Jones as TWIGS Christian Gymnastics Club (True Winners In God's Service), which was one of the first athletic training organizations established in Ohio. Classes were originally held in a small church in Germantown, Ohio with only six students; less than a year later, the business was moved into a 5,000 sq. ft. building in nearby Miamisburg. Despite humble beginnings, TWIGS was dedicated to providing the very best gymnastics training possible in a Christian environment. Since its founding, TWIGS has held true to that dedication and produced many highly successful athletes including Kelly McCoy who was qualified to the Olympic Trials in 1979 by TWIGS.

   The same year as Kelly McCoy's qualification, Tom Jones offered a coaching job to Bob Putman (pictured to the right with family) who later purchased TWIGS in 1987. For the next fifteen years, the business continued to flourish and the demand on our programs grew until their capacity was exceeded.

    In the spring of 2002, exactly thirty years after the founding of TWIGS, TWIGS KIDS was created and moved into a new, state-of-the-art 20,000 sq. ft. facility especially equipped for swimming and cheer as well as gymnastics.

   Today, we still uphold our Christian values and our dedication to train up children to be true athletic champions in all of the sports we teach. .                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                

Facility

Gymnastics

   Our gymnastics facility is specially built and outfitted for training in all skill levels of gymnastics and cheerleading. Provided are state-of-the-art instructional and safety equipment including: two spring floors, two tumble traks (one in-ground), trampoline, several balance beams, two 60 ft. vault runways (one with vault horse), large in-ground foam block pit, two uneven bars (one with in-ground resi pit), high bar with foam block pit, channel bar, parallel bars, along with many more mats, portable resi pits and a fully equipped Noah's Ark area.

Swim

    The Dolphin Cove Swim School facility includes a pool heated to at least 88°F. Our equipment includes: "bar-bells", wake boards, noodle floats, bubble belts along with additional training equipment.

 

Observation area    

   Our upstairs observation area allows for parents and relatives to watch their children in gymnastics, swim, or cheer classes from above. Available upstairs is the TK Cafe, a concession section, along with free WiFi access.

                         

 

Affiliations

TWIGS KIDS is a member of USA Gymnastics, CPO Certified with the National Swimming Pool Foundation, the host of infant aquatic survival instruction by Infant Swimming Resource, and a summer visitor of Lake Owen Camp.

Timeline

1972 TWIGS Christian Gymnastics Club started by Tom and Linda Jones in church in Germantown, Ohio; TWIGS is later moved into a 5,000 sq. ft. building in downtown Miamisburg.

1979 TWIGS qualifies Kelly McCoy to Olympic Trials.

1987 TWIGS purchased by Bob and Diane Putman.

2002 TWIGS KIDS created to include gymnastics, swimming, and cheer in a 20,000 sq. ft. facility in West Carrolton, OH to accommodate expansion needs.
